On Becoming a Teacher

Hi! This is Marites Navarro Ngitngit, who viewed education as an important tool in all aspects of life to become a purposeful being. At 42, I am a 4th year student of Holy Angel University taking up Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. I aspire to influence other people's lives in a more meaningful and positive ways through teaching. Hoping also to provide the unique needs of every individual.
The journey on "Becoming a Teacher" is never easy. A lot of struggles will definitely come along the way (I'm saying this based on my personal experiences). The very first day you started to learn on how to facilitate learning, you already attached yourself in so many things that a teacher be like need to face.
Meeting assignment and projects deadline (sometimes we asked for an extension), cramming during finals, the need to accept others flaws/weaknesses, and the likes are just some of the things you need to dealt. Thus, commitment and passion should also be within you. Of course there are also energizers that will keep us going like our considerate professors, peers, family and above all, God. The many challenges that need to conquer will always drive us to be better and do more until our better becomes best.
I know for a fact , that a teacher's life is not always like sailing smoothly with a touch of cold breeze. Most of their times were spent teaching and thinking of ways on how to make their student's better not just academically but holistically as well, and if that happens, a priceless fulfillment and happiness will be rewarded.
Of all the things I've been through in the past three years of my journey, whether ups or downs, I am very grateful to our Mighty Creator and will always be, because in-spite of everything my heart's desire to "become a teacher someday" still lies.
